Lower Zambezi

This parks setting on the flood plain of the mighty Zambezi River is second to none. The opposite bank is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mana Pools National Park and together with Lower Zambezi National Park they form a wilderness area of unparrelled beauty. Enormous herds of elephant, some up to 100 strong, are often seen at the river’s edge. ‘Island hopping’ buffalo and waterbuck are common. The park also is also home to leopards and prides of lion, the Zambezi itself is teeming with Hippo and crocodile and listen too for the ubiquitous cry of the fish eagle.
